General Itinerary
The beginning of your tour starts directly next to the Delaware River, with views out to New Jersey and over to the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. Along the waterfront, get comfortable on your new steed as you build up your confidence. Then, travel up Race Street, and through the Historic District, as you pass some classic sites, including Elfreth’s Alley, the Betsy Ross House, Franklin’s Grave, and Independence Hall. In the beautiful neighborhood of Society Hill, the architecture of the stately homes here are a feast for the eyes. The aroma from the many coffee shops and restaurants along the way inspires your senses.
Pass across the Avenue of the Arts on the way to Rittenhouse Square, and then wind through the Fitler Square neighborhood to the Schuylkill River. The scenery changes again here as you work your way along the paths of the Schuylkill Banks with the countless other runners, walkers, and bikers, toward the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Great views over the Boat Houses and of the Water Works will give your guide plenty of photos to take with you as the main feature.
The statue of Rocky adorns the area at the bottom of the famous steps that he ran in 1976, and perhaps your guide will give the chance to run the steps before you head on to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Here, you’ll find the Thinker by Auguste Rodin and the famous Barnes Foundation, as well as Logan Circle. Your guide takes you into some of the back streets towards the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Chinatown, Old City, and back to the Philly by Segway headquarters.
We make safety a high priority on your adventure, and we know you’ll return with a much greater appreciation of the city by the end of your exciting 2-Hour Segway PT Tour of Philadelphia.
